Art Lesson
Today we had a very enjoyable art lesson thanks to Fionn. We watched Fionn draw and he answered wonderful questions from the boys and girls in 2nd and 3rd class. It was very interesting to hear that fictional characters and cartoons inspire Fionn’s art. After this, we drew scenes inspired by Fionn’s work and books in our library.

2022/2023
Projects on a Famous Person
Over the last couple of weeks, the children of 2nd and 3rd class completed projects on a famous person of their choice. They really put in an impressive amount of research and work in to completing the projects and all did a brilliant job presenting them in front of their class.
This was a great opportunity to practice researching, compiling and presenting a project and a great chance to learn from each other. Below are some pictures of the children proudly displaying their projects.
Pen-Pals
The children in 2nd and 3rd received their letters from their pen pals last week. In May they made contact with a class from 3rd Grade at The Hill School in Middleburg, Virgina USA. They sent them letters telling their pen-pal all about themselves and asking about them too. They were thrilled to receive their replies last week.

STEM
This year, children in second and third classes have been engaging in STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. We try to use fun activities to develop these areas, as well as developing skills such as teamwork, planning, leadership, innovation, critical thinking.
Below are some pictures of the children creating structures that could support a marshmallow using only spaghetti sticks, some string and a little masking tape.
Drama
The children have really enjoyed their drama lessons recently. Some future Oscar winners in action below.
